Each month we ship you a themed assortment of 3-5 products handmade in Canada by local artisans and small indie brands. Our mission is to provide an upscale selection of lifestyle products usually found in art galleries, select boutiques and local arts and crafts markets.

Each box is built around a monthly theme, covering a range of holidays and events: Thanksgiving, Back to School, Christmas, Canada 150, The Hostess, Summer Vacation, etc. In addition to our regular monthly box we will offer limited edition boxes (Gentlemen’s Confidential, The Baby Box, Bridesmaids Box, Fur Babies).
We prefer to focus on quality rather than quantity, while offering the box at an attractive price point. We have found that 3-5 products is the perfect sweet spot that allows you to experience a varied selection without creating clutter – we balance consumables with personal / fashion accessories, jewelry, stationery and home décor in a rotating fashion to keep the experience fresh and engaging every month.
This also allows us to truly focus on perfecting each month's assortment with the best products out there. You won't find any big box brands or "filler products" in our boxes.
Instead of relying on free samples, we work with the best and pay a fair price to our artisans. This allows us to have full control and choose only the products that we absolutely believe in.
We adhere to a strict cruelty free ingredient policy and do not feature products that have been tested on animals. We select vendors who share our preference for natural ingredients and minimal processing (this applies to both gourmet items and bath / beauty products). We regret that we are unable to accommodate food allergies. Please be aware that our suppliers’ gourmet items are manufactured in certified, government inspected facilities but there is no guarantee of an item being allergen free unless its description specifically states so.
We do not accept returns for subscription boxes, so please make sure to consider allergies at sign up. For Artisan store returns, please check our Returns and Refund policy.
We create assortments that fit the season and are in harmony with the boxes that have shipped before and will ship after. We rotate the types of products and themes for each month so you'll never receive similar products within a small time frame. For example, if you receive a necklace in September, we make sure not to include another necklace for at least 3-4 months so that you have plenty of time to fully experience each product. You may, however, receive a bracelet or a ring in the December box.
We sometimes have a few monthly boxes left. If that happens they will be available for purchase individually in the store. Once they are gone, there won’t be any more made available. Some of the items that we feature in our boxes are exclusive designs created for us. We may on occasion offer them individually for sale.
The Artisan store may sell out of popular items but never fear, we re-stock monthly. However, given the handmade nature of our items, it is difficult to predict whether the exact same item will be available again. If you see something in our Artisan Store that is sold out, you can enter your email address to be notified if we get more.
We welcome suggestions - if you'd like to see a particular item in our store, or wish to see more from an artisan, please let us know.
The subscription period closes on the 15th of each month.
First time subscribers: your credit card is first charged the day you sign up, and on the 1st of each month thereafter. For a recurring subscriber, your credit card is charged on the 1st of each month.
For example if you first sign up on the 25th of June, your credit card will be initially charged on June 25th, your first box will be the August box and it will ship on August 5th - 7th. Your credit card will then be charged on the 1st of each month, starting with September 1st. Your second box will ship on September 5th - 7th.
No. If you have received an email confirmation from us that we have canceled your account, you will not be billed again. The reason your subscription page shows that your subscription is still active is because you have not received all your prepaid boxes. We will keep your account active to make sure you get all the boxes you have paid for. It will switch to "inactive" after you receive your last box.
Yes we do. You can now send a little bit of home to yourself, or your overseas friends and family.
We offer expedited tracked shipping to the UK for $23 and Ireland for $32. (Non-Tracked rates available for less.)
We offer flat rate international shipping for $27 for our subscription box anywhere in the world via regular, untracked mail delivery that can take up to 18 days to arrive. Tracked delivery is also available for many countries at a higher rate - please email us as rates vary by country.
Please remember that we are not responsible for any customs or duties that may be applied at delivery. We are not responsible for any delays due to customs inspection or postal delivery issues. We will do our best to assist you, should your package be delayed.
We provide correct customs descriptions and values for packages destined overseas, as required by law. We only mark as "gift" those packages purchased for delivery to someone other than the buyer.
We are not able to guarantee delivery dates though most domestic packages arrive in 4-6 business days.
For holiday deliveries, we ship 30 days in advance. Our Christmas limited edition box will ship around November 25th. The regular December box will ship Dec 5th-7th, followed by the January box which ships on Jan 5th-7th.
Please Note: We are not responsible for carrier delays due to inclement weather, which are outside of our control.
We know that life happens and sometimes you are not around to receive your box, or perhaps you just need a short break to focus on other priorities. No problem! Just shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and you can skip a month anytime. The deadline for skipping a month is the 15th of the month before. (If you need to skip September, please let us know by August 15th.)
Please contact your local Canada Post office to find out if your box is being held there before contacting us. Often times a box will be scanned as "delivered", but it is actually at the local post office.
Please contact us if your subscription box has not been delivered for longer than 10 days. Most missing boxes are actually delayed in transit and get delivered during that time frame.
After that time period we will work with you to figure out the best solution. If you believe your box has been stolen, please contact us to file a legal report.
Have you created an account with us yet? Our system does not automatically create an account once you sign up for a subscription. Our email list is separate, which is why it is possible to receive emails from us without actually having an account.
You can change your billing information or update your shipping information from within your customer login. All billing and shipping information must be updated by the 15th so that we can accommodate the changes for next month's shipment. Any updates after that date cannot be guaranteed to be reflected in next month's shipment.
Being a small family run business we try and focus our resources as optimally as possible. We have decided to eschew phone support and handle all of our customer communications via email@example.com
We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but have found we are better able to give our members prompt service that way. As we continue to grow we will always be looking for a time that we feel we can handle phone calls.

Unless you purchased a gift, your subscription will automatically renew on the 1st of each month. You can cancel your monthly recurring subscription at any time by shooting us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and including your full name. The cutoff date for canceling next month's box is the 15th of each month (please see Note below).
If you cancel a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription and still have remaining months, the boxes will still ship as scheduled. We do not apply refunds for any length subscriptions.
Cancellations on or after the 15th of the month will take effect the following month. (For example if you cancel on September 20th, you will still be charged on October 1st and your October box will ship as scheduled. Your cancellation will take effect starting in November.)
If you cancel a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription, the remaining boxes will still be delivered and your original credit card charge will not be refunded. Canceling a 3/6/12 month subscription means that at the end of its current run, it will not renew.
We do not issue refunds for Canadian Original Box subscriptions.
If cancelling prior to the end of a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription, the remaining boxes will ship as scheduled. We do not issue refunds for remaining months.
Canadian Originals store purchases can be returned for a full refund in the form of a gift card to be used at a later date in our store. Products must be returned unopened, in their original condition. Please see Returns for complete details.
