Canadian Cancer Society fundraising event

Canadian Originals Sponsors Mudmoiselle in Halton on August 26, 2017

by Canadian Originals August 12, 2017

Are you ready for a day of mud, sweat and cheers? Come join us on August 26 for the Halton Mudmoiselle event. Visit us at the vendor tables and help us contribute - we are donating 10% of all sales proceeds that day to fund the fight for a cure. We are also providing three participants with our July Canada 150 box and we'll be on hand to cheer the 500 participants. While we believe in giving back to the community in multiple ways, this cause in particular feels very personal to us. Our beloved mother Lynne passed away from a brief battle with pancreatic cancer before turning 65, just as she was about to enjoy her retirement from a long career as a teacher and finally have more time to travel and visit her grandchildren. She never got a chance to meet the youngest of them, and we miss her presence at every family gathering.

So - what's a Mudmoiselle?

A Mudmoiselle faces every day with fierce optimism. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty (scratch that, she’s not afraid to get anything dirty). And she believes that obstacles only make her stronger.

But most importantly, a Mudmoiselle wants to drag cancer through the mud.

If that sounds like you, then swap your heels for runners, change your push-up bra for a sports bra, and chuck your pantyhose out the window. Whether you’re a survivor or want to support a fighter, it’s time to join your fellow Mudmoiselles in raising funds for Canada's most promising cancer research and vital cancer support services. Because when life gets messy, we stick together.

THE 5K MUD RUN

Get ready for a day of mud, sweat and cheers. The Mudmoiselle obstacle course is a 5K stretch of the muckiest, filthiest, slimiest mud. It’s where your inner child runs free while testing your endurance, strength and determination.

This women’s-only event is open to all fitness levels. Whether you’re used to running marathons, running around the office or running after your kids.

Reach out for more info and let's get down and dirty!

RAISING FUNDS, GOING THAT EXTRA MUDDY MILE.

What's more impressive than a lady like you trudging through mud on your day off? Raising money for a great cause at the same time! You will help fund Canada's most promising cancer research and vital support services for cancer patients and their families. Muddy shoes aside, we know when it comes to raising funds, you don't mess around. So we're asking that every Mudmoiselle go the extra muddy mile and reach the minimum $150 goal and then some!

This year the Halton event will be held at:

Mazzocato Maple Farm
8161 First Line, Campbellville, ON August 26th, 2017
Heat times from 10 am – 2pm

For more information and to sign up, please visit www.mudmoiselle.ca

Hope to see you there! Spread the word and get ready!

The maker of our lovely maple leaf necklace included in the July box is a married mom of two from Milton, Ontario. After spending years in the recruitment field she was introduced to creating jewelry 9 years ago and it was love at first sight. She began by creating bridal jewelry for herself and friends who were getting married, and it was only natural that she’d start creating jewelry for others. She hopes her designs bring not only joy and beauty, but also help celebrate special days and unique memories.
